How GranthaSwap works
Swapping books one-for-one rarely works — the person who wants your book seldom has the one you want. So we use Book Credits instead.

Give
List a book you've finished. When it reaches its new reader, you earn 1 Book Credit.

Three ways to hand over
🤝 Meet in person — free
You'll see each other's phone number to agree a time and place. When you meet, the reader shows their 4-digit code and the giver enters it. Done — the giver earns their credit on the spot.
📍 Drop hub — free
The giver leaves the book at a partner café, campus desk or office. The reader collects it within 7 days by showing their claim code at the counter. If it isn't collected in time, the giver still earns the credit — they kept their side of the deal.
📦 Post or courier
The giver posts the book (India Post Book Post is cheapest) and adds the tracking number. The reader taps “I received it” on arrival. A small handling fee of ₹40 is settled with the giver.
Can't find a book? Ask for it
Put the book on the Wanted board. Anyone can see it, even without an account. A reader who has it offers their copy, you accept one, and it becomes a normal trade.
Asking holds 1 credit until the book reaches you; it comes back if nobody offers within 30 days or you close the request. The giver earns 5 credits instead of 1 (the bonus is limited to 3 Wanted trades a month, and one a month from the same reader).
Good to know
- If a giver doesn't act within a few days, the request cancels and your credit comes back automatically.
- You can cancel your own request any time before the book is handed over, dropped or posted.
- Your trust score rises with every completed swap. Missing a hub pickup lowers it.
- Never share your claim code until you actually have the book in your hands.
